B18B has a sensor that the B20B doesn't have!! Do I need it?
Ok, I have run into a little problem. After I pulled the Pulley off from the B18B to swap some stuff, I notice that the Timing Gear that's behind the pulley has these gears that stick out with a SENSOR that I guess reads RPM or something?
When I pulled the crank pulley off of the B20B, the timing gear does not have those wierd gears and does NOT have that sensor... And there is NO way that I can swap over that gear from the B18B onto the B20B because the timing gear will not fit cause of the design of the B20B...
So do I need that Sensor? Does it read RPMS or what? Thanks!!

not for sure but that looks to be a crank flucuation< spell?, sensor, i think but could be wrong, and dont know what it dose but the b20b should have it well at least mine dose.
since the first B20Bs where offered in early 97(although some blocks are stamped 95), they come with a crank position sensor....
if your B18B is OBD 1 then for sure it will not have this....I'm not sure however if 96+ B18Bs came with these?...I know that OBD1 B18C1s didn't come with it and OBD2 B18C1s did...
