which is the fastest stock 600?
I was reading thru the buylines and saw new ZX6-R's advertised for $6000
i also saw a new red CBR 600F4i in front of my school....Man I'd like to get a bike, but dont know which one would be better.

I am looking at either the
1) Suzuki GSXR600
2) Honda CBR 600F4i
3) Kawasaki Ninja ZX6-R

How fast do you need to go? The 600's are already in the 10s with a good rider. Besides its freakign crazy to go that fast on the streets!

R6?????????????
Did any of you read the post listing the results from the 600 cc sportbike race in daytona?
There was One R6 in the top 20 it went suzuki, honda honda honda, suzuki honda yamaha.........
I dont know if it was that exact order, but there wer just as many honda's as suzuki in the top 20. there were very few kaw's and yam's.
The suzuki produces the most hp, and took the top finishing position in the daytona 600 cc race.
Like everyone stated most of them are very close in hp/tq ratings give or take a few hp's or ft/lbs.
Kawi's are comfortable, and are relatively cheap since they havent been revised since what 00?
The r6 hasnt been revised since its intro except for paint scheme.
The suzuki and r6 are more of an aggressive bike and have a more aggressive stance. they are more track oriented. They are not as comfortable as the honda and the kawi, and that is not just my opinion, that is the general consensus.
All of them go fast enough to get you into lots of trouble, so I would base it upon which is the fastest, cause there are always 750's and litre bikes that will get with ya.

Get the honda, they are the most durable.

i know the limited R7 had inverted fronts.
i know the limited R7 had inverted fronts.
heh. didnt know that either. i dont know ****
i guess the suzuki iz the best pick then. i waz thinking of gettin a r6.
but the track results i think are debatable. whatever bike it iz, i think it all depends on the rider. maybe that one r6 waz a poor driver? just my thoughts.

You should wait for the 2003's to come out because there's going to be an all new ZX-6R and I expect the R6 is going to get fuel injection like the R1 did and other changes. If you can't wait, I'm told there are great deals on 2002 Zx-6R's. What kind of riding do you plan to do? The GSXR rules in low weight and high horsepower but isn't great for touring. I almost bought an R6 but decided to save some money and buy a Suzuki SV650S and haven't regretted it.
Oh, didnt know that either... heh
i know the limited R7 had inverted fronts.
you could never buy an R7 in the states. Yes Yammy offered them to race teams, but they were unattainable to normal people. Good luck finding parts as well.

They're all so close its up to the rider.
As for all this Daytona BS. Do you really think those bike are really STOCK. Do you know how many loopholes are in the rulebooks
And as for the R6 being the slowest because there were hardly any in the top ten at Daytona...5 of the top 10 in World Supersport racing were in the top ten. 3 CBRs, 1 gixxer, and 1 ZX6r.
And if you still want to talk about about Daytona, look who won. Arron Yates on and SUZUKI. An old fat guy (in motorcyle racing standards).
Look, they're all fast bikes and anyone of them can beat the other on any given day... I know people who've been blown past with R1s and GSXR1000s in the twisties by guys on SV650s and GS500. So who cares which is the fastest, it's about WHO'S the fastest.

nod, i agree with that.
its the person who rides it. even though there might not be any r6's in the daytona or whatever, doesnt mean anything i think. atleast back in japan, there were a buncha r6's runnin in suzuka.

I have no doubt that the rider makes all the difference. BUT everyone says the r6 is the top dog of 600's. It is proven, the suzuki has the most horsepower of them all.
Then everyone says the r6 is better than the honda, how do they come up with that conclusion???? The r6 is not as comfortable the horsepower and tq numbers are within what 3hp depending on who is testing. All i was trying to say is that everyones opinion of the hondas and kawi's are that they are slower and more comfortable. While they may be more comfortable, they are not necissarily slower in the hands of a competent rider.
Not trying to start a flame war. Just trying to shed some light as to my other statement.

It's all up to you. All of these bikes are so far beyond our mere-mortal capabilities it's sick. If you could ride any of those bikes at the limit, you should be racing pro-ama supersport!

2) Honda CBR 600F4i
3) Kawasaki Ninja ZX6-R
Its the R6, which you don't have listed. It is, I believe by a slim margin, faster than the other 600's, with the Gixxer next. Now, let me say that they are all VERY VERY close.

hehe actually no the r6 is slow, its not even fuel injected, during the summers i work at a suzuki dealership, so i know, not to brag on my gixxer, but its the fastest stock in the quarter, i believe the f4i will beat it to 60 though.
i have rode them all. i liked the feel of the honda best not the most power or the lightest but i just had avery smooth comfortable feel and it looks real good. silver and black is so sweet. the r6 and gsxr prob tie for 2nd. i think the gsxr is a lil faster but the black red and white scheme of the r6 is so nice. the zx6 is nice but i just wasnt very comfortable and it seemed a lil down on power. plus the colors really suck. but it is all in your preference.

the r6 with it "old tech" carbs seem to hang with all the new fuewl injected bikes pretty good.
Now I'm a Suzuki guy all the way, I'd never buy anything other than a Suzuki (at least I say that now) but for you to say you work at a Suzuki dealership so you know that the R6 is slow is just .....well stupid.
.06 slower than the Honda and .05 slower than the Gixxer.......with all the Improvements Suzuki and Honda have done to their bikes that all the faster than the 2 year old designed R6 they can get 'em.
Well based on Sport Riders test of the 2001 models, I think the F4i is the fastest in a staight line all together. Around the tracks they said the Gixxer is quickest around more open tracks while the R6 is the quickest in the tighter tracks.
......It's still all about the RIDER though.
