cam gears and pullies
ok just a couple questions...
first, aem pullies....any yays or nays about the alternator/PS pullies?
cam gears:
if im looking at getting a stage 1 comp cam (zex), do i need an adjustable cam gear? or will the stock one be OK.. .cause it says made to use with stock stuff..
and does it need to be dyno tuned if i do need a cam? i was told in a recent post that if you have an adjustable cam that it needs to be dyno tuned... i know alot of people with them and theres no dyno around...
is there no way to correct the timing without a dyno?
sorry, new to the cam/cam gears subject..
thanks all

you dont need a cam gear, and the pullies are OK. you lights will dim at idle with the alternator one.
i have the alternator and power sterring if you want to buy them from me. in RED. 50 bucks plus your stock alternator pully
platinum.

if you put on an adjustable cam gear, how do you know what to change the setting to? The only way to know is to hit up a dyno, to see what the most effect settings are.

Well I just think the best way is to take a trip to a dyno to get the optimal setting.

Well a dyno will show how much power your putting out, thus you can adjust it accordingly.

well, there isn't a dyno in iowa, at least to my knowledge...
so if i were to get one i guess i would set it at zero, which would be stock, right?
is there markings on the gear teeth to show zero?

**** i think i'll just get the stage 1 cam and leave the gear alone... seems to big of a hassle considering i dont even need it...
any more input on the pulleys?
thanks

There is a dyno in minnesota, search and you can find it. I think its called mineesota sport compact. But you can gain a few ponies with an adjustable camgear.
