Torn Help me Please hahaha
hi guys, just wanted to say whats up to the s2000 guys on here. i have been on ht for a while now posting mostley in the ITR fourm or the classifieds, anywase
i am in the market for a new car, and i am torn between a yellow hardtop s2000 or an 02 + SMG M3 ?
I want something nice that i can still have fun in, Im about 6'0 ft so i dont think fitting will be an issue ?
i really just dont want to regret makin this purchase ?
could someone let me know the goods and bads to owning an s2000, what to look for, any advice would be apperciated, i just want to be able to park the car somewhere with out coming back to it every 5 min like i have to in the ITR.
Thanks guys
The two cars you chose are in different pricing categories. I would drive both then decide which you like better. I am not sure if financial obligations play a part or are both easily feasible?
S2k's are more theft prone than M's, just FYI.
My friend has an E46 M3 and I've got an S. They're both fun to drive. The M's a killer on the highway. The thing just pulls and pulls.
The S is definately slower in the straights.
On corners, you can definately feel the extra pounds of the M, but it does handle it very well. The S feels nimble and light, with an awesome steering input.
They're both fun cars. The S will be easier on the wallet to track and maintain. If this will be your only car, I'd have to say the M3, as it will be more practical. As a second car...that's up to you. It'd be a hard choice, but for me, I think I'd have to go with the M3 again. It's just a sweet car. So if you can afford it, go for the M, but you really can't go wrong with either car.

I assume with the price of an E46 M3 you are looking at getting a brand new S2000, correct me if I am wrong. It all depends on what you want. Maintenance on a M3 and just the overall cost is going to be a lot more. If I had the choice and money was not an object I would choose a Laguna Seca Blue M3...hands down
I ain't knocking Honda though by any means, M3 just hits it on every aspect of a sport/luxury car.

I've heard mixed feelings on the SMG. Purists will say it's blasphemy to have that on a sports car (yet, that's the only available transmission on the Enzo
), others love the fact that it's practically a manual transmission, but you can put it in "auto" mode, which will be very useful for commuters prone to get stuck in traffic for a long period of time.
For me, I'd get the 6 speed. But if I lived in LA and had to commute to downtown everyday, I'd probably opt for the SMG.
Hardtops at the dealer is a $3k option, I think?

well you can find them around here and there.... the problem is they had a fire in one of thier factories that produced the hardops a long time ago.. and they have yet to contract them out to someone else to produce them on a regular basis....
