*First of all, I already searched and found nothing conclusive.

I just bought an '89 DX, and the CEL light comes on, but goes away every time I shut the car off. It seems to only come on when I let up on the gas, like when a car in front of me slows down a little but not enough to downshift. I put injector cleaner in, but it hasn't solved the problem. It's throwing codes 1 (o2 sensor) and 16 (fi). Any ideas?

 

Don't tell me nobody has any suggestions...

BUMP - anybody want to help here?

 

1=try a knonw good 02 sensor

16=fuel injectors? Check the wiring to the injectors. Corrosion, broken wires.

Does the car run fine?

 

seems to run ok... and idles a little rough, but I haven't tuned it up and it has 240xxx miles on it. Also, there's a "whine" when driving that reminds me of the stereo sound when you have a remote wire too close to the ground - it increases in volume and pitch with the RPM's
