Default ITR clutch on GSR?

anyone have this setup on their gsr? comments? feedback?

i have a i/h/e gsr and need a clutch real soon

the act street is about $100 US more than a stock ITR w/ new bearings, seals, etc...

i'll also be installing a ITR flywheel

should i save the 100 and just go OEM ITR? i don't plan on doing any major mods to my car, due to the new zero-tolercance performance mod here shared by some popo's (heck, i even have an stock ITR exhaust now)

or does anyone recommend the centerforce, exedy, spoon, clutchmasters, etc? keep in mind i'm on a budget

any comments/help will be GREATLY appreciated

oh yeah, i plan on taking to the drag strip a few times, and start auto-x'ing once i can afford to change tires every season...

i have the ITR clutch in my GS-R along with the ITR flywheel. if money is there and you have the time id get an aftermarket clutch. if you want pedal feel close to stock get the ITR or an ACT street disc. else go with a stage 2 or 3 clutch for more grip and better power handling.

you'll notice the difference in the ITR flywheel the most.

i got my itr clutch w/ TOB for 200$. Its great, could be a little more heavy duty, but I love the stock feel.

I checked into the dealer on this subject as I was wondering the differences in the ITR and GSR clutch setup...the part numbers for the actual friction plate of the ITR and GSR are the same, along with the TOB. The only thing that had a different number between the two was the pressure plate. So maybe just getting an ITR pressure plate and an aftermarket friction disc woudl be a good way to go? I still might fo with the whole ITR setup, since I like to stick OEM stuff and I get a dealer discount now.

P.S.- how much more pressure is required on the clutch pedal with the ITR setup? TIA

r u sure they're the same? (the friction plate, i mean). the dealer said u can't mix n match the itr/gsr clutch components w/ each other, so u have to go one or the other..

oh yeah, that plus the gsr plate/disc costs more than the itr plate/disc

i'm just going by what the dealer parts guy said, that the friction plates show the same number between a 98GSR and 98ITR but the pressure plates had different numbers. I'm just going to buy the whole ITR clutch package anyway since it's cheaper than the GSR one and a little better.

Im thinking of going OEM myself
Anyone know how much more pressure is on the ITR pressure plate than GSR?
Also whats the difference in the ITR flywheel, lighter?
What material is the disc made of?

The difference in pedal pressure is negligible. I've driven my car and my friend's ITR back-to-back, I could just hop right in and drive it like I was driving my car with zero learning curve.

The ITR flywheel wieghs 15lbs, and the GS-R flywheel weighs closer to 18-19lbs.

The clutch discs are probably made of organic material for easy engagement.

I had an ITR clutch and 10 lb flywheel in my LS tranny. worked great. how much is the OEM setup? You can get the Exedy for about $250.
