Hi flip1199: Long time no hear, I hope everybody is doing well. The track had to close the doors because of housing, but on the other hand it's moving next door to the drag race track and that means that SMELL that everybody smelled will be GONE.

WOW I take that back, I am going to make a phone call. It must be a wrong address. They would not have two drag track so close together.

Yeah what does this mean for Famoso?

I know its futher up the highway, this is in a mostly farmland area east of Bakersfield.

In any case, we need more tracks in California and the only options now are out in the boonies were people haven't move, yet.

If the proposed high speed railsystem goes in I imgaine this track will go the way of the do-do in about 20-30 years as that seem to be the life cycle for a oval these days especially here.

It still good news and its closer than Famoso which I'm sure will remain open, but for how long?

Hi dj4monie: The City would not let this happen, with Famoso just 30- 40 min away from each other. I will make a call to the guys and I will send a report back to you racers. I think Famoso raceway will be one of the last standing drag race tracks left in caif when the time comes, because it's way out in farmland. The farmers that are close to the track love drag racing, and the same owners that owen the land when my Dad used to own the track, they have passed the farming to their Family. So it will be along time before Famoso will be taken over by Housing.

Lets see what happens and I will report back.

Thank You earl for the post, you are always on top of things.
