Hey Guys,

I'd like to add a Honda OEM factory alarm system to my 96 Accord LX and I was wondering if any of you know if all that is needed is the brain and the remote. Wasn't sure if there were any additional wiring harnesses or sirens needed. I'm hoping that it's a plug and play type deal like it was with my 98 Civic.

If any of you EX owners have a factory alarm, let me know if it uses your horn as the siren.

I know my 03 does. I'm sure they all do (use the horn). Sure would be nice if you could just plug it in to a harness already in the car. I don't know about that.

 

The reason that I questioned the siren is that on Majestic Honda's OEM part site it shows that there is a siren, siren harness, and siren mounting kit offered by Honda for the 96 model Accord. This stuff is all discontinued so I was wondering if the alarm really used or a siren or if the horn did the work.
