I am just wondering how many of you keep it a secret about what is under your hood. Well???? I am talking about when people ask you what you got and you kind a shrug it off or be quiet about it. Just wonderin! Well, why???? Why not just say what you got and run?

i tend to keep quite about my setup... granted some people know about it already... even on the street... ill just keep quiet about it... not many people know what i have on this board!

 

On that note, I hate people that go to the track and put N/T on their windows. Next person I see do that, i'm telling everyone that you run 17's.

 

Yes telling people what you have under your hood draws theives, so instead list everything you have down to the chrome valve stem caps, then post some pics of your ride on here with your hometown listed under your nick

I dont tell people exactly what is has like "... oh well... ah... yeah.. ah.. i have a AEM cold air induction, and ah... yeah... a DC sports... BLAH BLAH BLAH..." If you beat them, or what ever I just tell them I/H/E, i dont specify about brands or anything... and most people wont try to steal car parts from under your hood if you have an alarm anyways. That is just plain insane. I still think all Mods are a waste of money... well never mind that, that's just my budget talking. I think most people are just curious and want to know how they can make thier car as fast as yours... etc... i dont think they are out to find someone to follow home to steal their car part.

Well what i mean is that I don't say i have a dx motor in my car. I say, I am runnin the b16a sirII. I knew this guy had a sr20det in his ser, so I asked what has he done to it. He just told me he had a stock motor and that is it. Why????

DUDE, its all about competition. Once you race someone, well you'll know then why ppl dont say much. Its about discretion. Why do you have to tell everyone that you are the bomb, is it because you got a small peter? Or is it because you are a disciplined beast, bread on discipline, blood and guts? Are you the bastard who can beat any car on your block (including the trailer down the street) or is it because you are proud and decide that there is no need to make someone insecure about their set up? my car isnt super fast but its the fastest in my town. ppl have an idea what lies under the hood. but they r all ricers that buy stupid wings, taillights, fog lights and paint up the interior to look gay. then they all hate cause my car is fast and looks good. no one dares lay a hand on my car so im not worried about theives. ****, if i did tell them what was under the hood (parts) they prolly wouldnt even know what the hell i was talkin about. bout the only thing they understand is GSR motor.

 

I perfectly understand everyone. But then, what's the point? Why don't I just say "I have a stock Civic" with no mods at all." Then no one will ask me because I'm all stock. If I need help installing a JRSC, no one seem to have it. Who do I turn to? I can't tell the advise I'm getting is from someone who has one or not.

The board will suffer. Like money in economics, if it doesn't flow, the country will die.

How about instead of NOT sharing this information about cars, how about just changing the location of where you really are? If I was in L.A. Good luck in finding me. I know there are 20 or so person with the exact same first and last name.
