it could and most likely means you have a burnt head gasket. Check your oil to see if you see coolant mixed in with it. It could be possibly a burnt valve or piston rings. Do a compression test.

Doesnt have to have water in the oil for it to be a head gasket... Water/coolant can seap into the combustion chamber without ever mixing with oil. However, commonly you will have oil in your water/coolant or water/coolant in your oil when you lose a head gasket. to look for water/coolant in your oil, first pull your dipstick, look for a light brown color to the oil, and/or bubbles in the oil on the dipstick, or drain your oil and check it out.

Black is rich
Bluish White is Oil
Grey/White is Moisture (Though a friend disagreed and said a lean mixture can do this also, but I never heard of it)

Run a compression test. Most likely your rings.

I had this problem a while back with an older Accord. It would be fine for a while cold, but after warming up it would overheat and white steam would spew out of the hood. Turned out to be a small hole in the radiator that was leaking the steam, and accumulating until it came out into a cloud on the road.

Not sure if this is what your problem is though, I would agree with the headgasket theory too.

how do bad piston rings burn white smoke? (white is coolant or SUPER rich)

you need to do a LEAKDOWN test. not compression.

white is steam aka moisture/water/coolant in the combustion chamber, BLACK is rich... Not white...

Doggworld, happens after running hard only? As I said my friend said it could be a sign of lean, maybe your running to lean... I know for sure that black is rich, you said you only got 5000 miles on it?

Deffinately a leak down test will solve wether or not its a head gasket... As for pulling the plug and seeing if its wet, that would only work in a case that it was really bad, and if it was that bad, you would have no question wether or not it was the head gasket. It is possible to have a slight leak that only shows enough when under hard driving. The only way to know for sure is a leakdown test. As I said before my friend said it could be a lean mixture which i had never heard of but someone else in this thread said they had heard the same thing. One other possibility cause i know it was the case with me, when i first got my new exhaust I had some smoke, and it was white as well, but by the smell i knew it was the exhaust/muffler burning in (for lack of a better term) sort of speak. whats your set up?

notice how i said SUPER rich.

a normal rich condition is black.. but something that can cause so much fuel there is no combustion at all can spit white smoke. its very rare but ive witnessed it with my own eyes.

I've never seen or heard of that, but if that were the case it would have to be running bad, real bad, fuel that rich. Which again he doesnt seem to have any symptoms but the white smoke.

I still think either a slight head gasket leak that is only showing up under hard conditions (Do a leak down test) or maybe that new pipe of yours, but that shouldnt last long if it is that.. Any other symptoms?

I liv ein pensacola fl and have a hole in my pipping. on cold starts and punching it sometimes it'll blow white. moister gets in there cold or not, evaporation. after you drive for a while does it stop? even on hott days after driving for a bit. if it doesnt affect nothing then just drive it dude until it does it all the time. then worry.

Well, back to the fact of it being the rings. I would just imagine the oil is getting past the piston rings into the combustion chamber, and is being burnt along with the gasoline, resulting in a white smoke. Especially when you hit VTEC. I know this because my rings were horrible, and that is the color of smoke it blue out.
