i bought a 1997 Type R with 5k miles on it in mid 2001... when i had already owned my S2000 for over a year......i hated the ITR. I sold it after just 5 months.... i kept the S2000 though.

Did you track the R?
I have to say, you will NOT appreciate the R unless you take it to the track. Maybe it does lack a bit compared to the S, but I would never say that I hated driving the R--not even close. It is an excellent, fun car to track. If you were just going to drive it around town, might as well have gotten a GSR--at least that has A/C and cruise control. I guarantee 80% of the people that sell their R's are doing so, because they expected VTEC to kick in like a t60 turbo.
Not ******* on you, at all. After all, you did keep the faster car.

Scot races in ECHC with a S2K. Well he used to, he sold his S a month or so ago. He came in 2nd place both yrs he raced. I would think he was not impressed enough with the R. He is a very good driver and I wouldn't doubt that he tracked the R. I will leave more details for him to chime in

Even if that's the case, how can he say he "hated the R?"
I guess we've all got our different tastes and are entitled to our own opinions...oh well, I'm just trying to defend the reputation of my long lost love.

Having had two Type R's previous to my S2000, I would have no problem buying another Type R. I certainly think that it takes a more competent driver to get the most out of the S2000, but if I picked up another R, it would probably be for a crazy motor build up drag car, or full purpose track car. The R is in it's element when tracked... Just my .02
Wouldnt even consider going to an ITR from an S2000...just a personal preference, im not a fan of front wheel drive performance cars (track or not), and to me, if im going to go to a track, i would rather master driving the S2000 than the Integra Type-R...because while it it quite a competent track car, you will eventually meet the point where you simply cannot out perform a like driver with similar performance in a rear wheel drive car...the optimal setup for speed and handling on a track is rear wheel drive, this is why most of the racing world relies on rear or all wheel drivetrains...and im no expert personally, i would never claim to be...and i probobly would never get to a point where i would drive either car to its full potential...so in that thought, i would just go back to personal preference.
Styling wise to me as well...the S2000 wins hands down, but thats lesser of a factor if you love both cars...ive never cared for the integra so its easy for me.

i dont know, since i own an R already so im kinda byest... i love my R it handles great, plus with the new motor im good to go too. (who said you cant turbo a type R), the only thing that I hate about owning the car is that,
1 you cant park it ANYWHERE outside
2 people try to race you all the time
3 because its a type R everyone thinks its fast
4cant drive the car no where, unless you want to check it every 10 min
other then that, i have wanted one since i was 17 and it has been everything i wanted.
im getting ready to make it a weekend car now, and need something that i can work with. so im thinking of a new S or maybe and M3

depends on what you expect from the car. And even that, you have to be very specific.
e.g. I haf seen a Mugen EP3 N1 (270ps NA) whooping a 280ps S2000, 500ps evos and 911 GT3s all day long on a street course. in this case FF>RR,FR
But i am sure u can come up with something to refute this. As i have said, it's all up to people. Dont get me wrong, I like S2ks.

I can. Driver of said Mugen EP3>drivers of the S2K and the EVO,911. If any of those drivers were good they should be quiker hands down.

in the hands of a competant driver, the limits for cornering speed + braking + acceleration will always be in favor for RWD. Of course there are FWD setups to show they can keep up and sometimes outlap a RWD setup in the same class.
I could see someone hating the ITR b/c it would be so bothersome to drive it worrying about someone stealing it.

Exactly. That's one of the main reasons why I sold mine. However, it was NOT because of the performance aspect.
