i just bought a car (99 civic HB) for dirt cheap and it was a "rebuilt vehicle" it drives perfect and the chassis was never touched by the accident. i was seeing if anyone knows how to clear the title of the "rebuilt vehicle" status, i know it can be done and heard a few different ways, but never heard an exact way or the full story, if anyone has knowledge on this it will be greatly appreciated. i live in illinios if that helps or hinders my problem.

your better off being honest on your title. dont try to sell that thing and not disclose that it was in an accident

 

this is true, but i saw the pics of the crash, only the lights,front, bumper,both fenders and hood were jacked up, he crashed into some small trees, the suspension was never touched and neither was the weak front cross member. it just was a shitty insurence company that didnt want to fix it, so he had no choice and i cant see having that on my title although the car is still mint as hell. so im gonna try my best and get it removed.

 

I have no idea, but I dont think he was asking about selling it, just so it will have a clean title, rather than salvaged, or whatever. I have no idea, call the local DPS or something.

 

The law varies from state to state, but in general, once a title has been flagged, rebuilt, salvage - whatever it's that way forever.
