Is there anyway to put a front sway bar on my 97 DX without EX arms?

 

Will integra front arms work?

 

You can use Civic EX/SI LCA's or Integras. They will bolt up and have factory swaybar holes.

Suspension Techniques makes bars for the front and rear for people with no factory holes.

 

for an ex front sway you need ex front control arms.

for an si front sway you need si front control arms.

the two have different mounting points.

I just put LX sedan front sway bar on my '97 DX hatch.

This is what you'll need:
- Sway bar (LX)
- Brackets (LX or Energy suspension)
- Endlinks (LX or Energy suspension)
- Partial control arm.

You don't have to replace the whole control arm, it's a lot easier to replace just the part with a hole for the sway bar.
If you haven't noticed yet, it's made out of two pieces.
One is straight (you won't need this one).
And the other is kind of like an "F," that's the piece you need.
Here's a picture:

If you just replace this instead of the whole thing, you won't have to mess with ball joints and what not.

 

The Suspension Techniques bars are great and require nothing aside from whatever your car came with stock .

I bought aftermarket rear LCAs for my 93 Si anticipating purchasing a nice rear swaybar and ended up not needing them due to the ST's construction. Oh well, a little bling never hurt anyone

This SHOULD work for 92-95 Civics as well. This weekend I grabbed the same exact pieces off a 94 EX and plan on throwing them on my 92 CX. The CX LCA,s have the holes for the "F Piece"

Are you saying if i buy suspension technqiues sway bars It comes with everything i need to put a front sway bar on? That woulb be great.

 

The DX didnt come with a FRONT sway bar? On a FWD car? Damn Honda, way to cut costs....

 

anyone know what the diameter of the LX front sway bar is?

 

The 96-00 Civic EX and LX came with a 22mm sway bar, the Si and CTR came with the front 26mm sway bar but took different LCAs.

Don't tell me you never pulled ITR ones out. If not, you suck.

 

dx lca's don't have the hole for the endlink. 96+ ex/99+ si lca's are your best bet. you can use dc integra lcas, but you'll need to switch over the front section of the control arm onto the rear section of the integra arm.

But like already stated, Ex and Si LCA's are completely different.
1. Ex is two piece vs the Si one piece.
2. Ex does NOT use endlinks and the Si does.

1. Correct. Also, Ex is cast iron and the SI is metal.
2. EX do have endlink but different style.

Mine didn't exactly resemble an endlink... I suppose it is, even though the sway bar is practically bolted onto the arm with very little room for movement. That, and the holes for the links on the Ex bar are parallel to the ground, instead of perpendicular like the Si.
