DPFI Box
Alright well, My friend and I picked up an '90 civic dx sedan. This thing is a huge peice of ****. Him and I were messing around with the engine today and we thought it would be pretty cool to remove that black box that says "DPFI" on it. We never got around to it though, because I thought that perhaps I should ask honda-tech what would happen if we removed it. If we did remove it, would it still be drivable? It doesn't look like it is connected to anything vital, so removing it shouldn't effect anything, right?
Sorry to bring back an old thread and asking a dumb question but has anybody removed the DPFI box and put a universal HKS air filter on top of the manifold, is that even possible? I know its kinda ricer but I'm still collecting parts for my swap so this is just temporary.
I am sorry to say that I have invested way to much time and effort into trying to get any perfromance out of a DPFI set up on my very first civic. The factory set up is best for what it is. Deviating from that is an ugly process of comming out of denile. Nothing can come from it for numerous reasons..... Just swap it to an MPFI if your going to invest ANY time or money.
