Spoon VTEC Controller

I was thinking about buying one and hooking it up to my JDM Sohc but have some questions.

First- anyone on here have one on a single cam and does it make a diff.
Second- is this a dumb *** question

is your motor stock? if so just leave it as is. the vtec controller wont do anything for you.
