Might be trading my EG for a 90 CRX
so i was casually talking to a kid i work with about how much i hated my CX's slowness, and he said he really wanted to build an EG. so he said he would trade me my CX for his 90 CRX with an LS swap, and at first i thought he was kidding, but he was dead serious. so tuesday i'm gonna drive over to his place and check it out, the thing with it is it was in an accident where someone cut him off and he rear ended them, so it needs a hood, fender, bumper and headlight, so we pretty much figured for my bone stock CX it was a decent deal to do a straight up trade. so if it looks easily fixable (IE no core damage, only visual stuff) i'm really gonna go for it, because my plan as of now was to save my money till spring, sell my camaro and put an LS into my EG and then depending on what i got for my 'maro, turbo it. what do you guys think of this deal? oh yeah and the only other bad thing is i would have to wait till his insurance company is done with the car (he doesnt know how long its going to take his dad is handling that) but still, it'll give me time to collect the parts i need.
word of caution. Did he do it himself? Make sure that swap is legit go through all the bolts and tighten everything down to spec. I know it sounds rediculous...but people tend to forget to put bolts back in...." it's just extra stuff" hahahahaa....Take a drive in it first and check out it. A cx can be built too....If you don't want to do anything but just maintance and maybe bolt ons go for it.
You gotta a lot of bros in the Ef/ED section...we take care of each other.....Get it and ask us questions if it's all funky....or just go beat his *** and have the Eg and the ED.

he said he did it himself and had someone else wire it. anything important in particular i should look for? or should i just give it a thorough once over to make sure everything is tight and there? i'm still pretty new to hondas, and have never even touched a B series (all my friends are pro-D series)
Chekc the dust covers near the tranny. Make sure the starter is not loose. Make sure when he went MPFI that he used all ther right **** on the wiriing. B/c once those wires ground out they will expletive your injector up. No spray=nopower. Make sure the mortor is strong on the comp ratio. turn on the car and then pull out one of the Spark plug wires and if the car sputters the comp is good. Check all the sensors on the back of the block. Make sure there are no SERIOUS burn marks anywhere......You know the normal ****....Just be weary dude. IMO i don't like to buy other ppls projects unless i plan on redoing it myself...But then again i've only built about 4-5 cars....But just be careful bro.
if it is a hf or si it was already mpfi so he didn't have to convert it. just swap in the new motor if it was from a 90-93 integra which i am assuming it is. just making sure it doesn't ping, idles correctly, doesn't smoke at all, and check to see if you hear any air leaks when the car is idleing under the hood.
CRX!!! ****** it up! Trade that SOB and feel the REX beneath you!
But for real though make sure the frames still straight. And post pics first to get some feedback from ppl on HT. Trust me there are some idiots but for the most part these ppl here are geniuses.
