dont worry its a beater..i just wanted to know how i could start my car my key broke and i crammed a screw driver in the ignition and it didnt work so i took it to honda the repair is going to be 1500 dollars plz help i got a 89 civic hatch i got for 800 i dont want to total the fing thing

 

You COULD start the car by jumping the starter with a screwdriver, but you'll fry the screwdriver and its not exactly fixing your problem. $1500 is really rediculous. Just go to a wrecker and get an ingition module. I'm not sure, but I think they're all the same for all 88-91's (just make sure there's a key with it). I don't know how to replace it but it can't be all that hard.

 

take off your steering column cover, there's a wire that connects into the whole ignition assembly w/ plastic at the end of it, maybe a couple screws to take out, pull that off and use a screw driver and turn it on like you were turning your key.
