Default wheel paint question

i want to paint my wheels a gold color . the only experience i've ever had painting my wheels is with the duplicolor brand wheel paint, and it turned out pretty good everytime . however, duplicolor doesnt sell a gold color wheel paint . can anyone tell me what other type of paint/spray i can use to paint my wheels ? i think i read somewhere before that you can use krylon paint, is that true ?

Well the whole reason companies powdercoat rims is to make the paint more durable and to be more resistant to heat, and you want that....

I don't know what paint manufacturer's make a gold color but I would say check the tempature rating of the paint.

I would say do a search here and google with the keywords "wheel paint" "high tempature paint" and throw gold in there somewhere.

Good luck

I found this can of black spraypaint at a John Deere store. This paint was 6$ a can and VERY durable, and by durable, i mean i spilled some brake fluid on it and it wiped off. Its meant to paint like tractors, durable ****, so if that paint material **** is in other sprays, you should be ok.

When i painted my wheels they actually ran out of the paint i wanted at pep-boys so i went to the wal-mart and they had no paint in the automotive section so i went to the paint isle and took a Chance with some cheap gold paint that cost 99 cents and it turned out great. I prepped it with a scotch brite pad and scuff-stuff (it's used for auto-body paint prep) and some hot water. Then cleaned it of with a metal prep primered and sprayed then cleared. I'll post pics of them.
