Default collector jig

This is jig that I made for holding the pipe while cutting the angels and keeping the cuts 90deg apart. I also made it so it bolts onto a chop saw or will clamp into a bandsaw. It will also adjust from 0 to 20deg.

Let me know what you guys think

Updated action pics, I only had one piece of pipe so I"ll show a full collector when I get more pipe...[img]

If people are interested in theses please email me at civicefsir@hotmail.com

The bolt that goes through the center holds it from spining , and locates the 90.
And no i dont have a shop, I'm a machine tool student.

Thats very nice. You could even make different size adapters for it for different size piping.

Yeah I though about making other sizes or adaptersfor the different size pipes.

And as for selling them I didn't intend on selling it but if someone wants it IM me with an offer.

I'll post some more pics next week when I get more pipe.

also you can do three sides with this so you can make collectors for 6cyl also.

I made my own JIG long ago...but yours kicks the **** out of mine. Take some more picture of it and the resulting collector from using it. I'll buy one.

Also if you can get pictures of it in a bandsaw, I would like to see if that would fit into my bandsaw.

looks like the blade will not beable to cut all the way through the pipe , seeing how it will be off the table the thickness of the base of the jig ,also the blade cut will be on the wrong side it looks ,

the blade goes all the way through the pipe. the blade runs right along the slug, and the blade doesnt cut into any part of the jig. once i take pics of it in action you'll understand how it works.

And for the people wondering if it will fit in your band saw, as long as you can fit a 10inch piece in you clamp it will fit.

And also I have used it to make collectors so I know it works and works well. I try other methods before this one and by far this is the fast and best cut you can get without machining.

That looks great. Nice and sturdy! I build similar tooling for the products I make, but I've never made an angle jig for pipe.
