Looks to me like the smaller ABS has lines that are bent entirely different from the older one meaning it wouldnt bolt in at all.

Couldn't you make custom lines? I mean is that the only thing keeping people from switching out their big abs unit to a smaller one?

Well why don't you inform us mr. smarty pants, for those of us who don't know what abs is for. Try to contribute to the thread instead of making gay post.

Anti-lock brakes are designed to prevent skidding and help drivers maintain steering control during an emergency stopping. Basically pumps the brakes for you so the brakes dont lock up. Because the wheels don't lock, drivers have the ability to steer around hazards if they are unable to stop in time

I have a 96 GSR. I took out the ABS fuse to disable my ABS. I have the dreaded buzzing noise and the small leak under the module. I tried to fix it with replacing the o-ring under the accumulator. Worked perfectly for a few days and the buzzing/leaking came back.

So I just took the fuse out. I dont wanna pay $800+ for a new ABS Module.

that's only part of the story. In real world scenario, By preventing locking up (AKA skidding) of the tire, the brakes can consistently apply maxmium braking force to the ground and stop the car in a shorter distance. Most drivers will tend to lock up the brakes too many times and for too long, even they know skills such as cadence braking. ABS just does it better.
