Default Welding & Fab work on an intake in Nor-Cal

Update: the section to chop off and replace is highlighted in red

So i have a v2 intake on my gsr b18c that was originally for my old y8 engine that works great for midrage power but my top end chokes out. The v2 intake is 3.5'' from the filter to the bend before the TB, then it goes down to 2.5'' after the bend. It is actually smaller than the TB. I was thinking of cutting off the 2.5'' bend and making it 3'' and making the second pipe inside the 3.5'' section, 3'' as well. I figured I'd do this because it seems to be cheaper and a whole lot less headache than selling this v2 intake and buying a ITR CAI. That plus i still need to B.A.R. my engine.
So, to the questions:

Does anyone know of a welder near the NorCal area that can do this? Prices?

Does anyone have a pic of their ITR CAI that they can post so i can see where its mounted and what the exact bends are?

Im in Sacramento and can do it for you. Citrus Heights, almost to Roseville to be exact. I kind of understand what you want done and it seems fairly simple. Biggest headache will be finding the materials. Let me know what size materials and how much, and I will see what I can do. You will also need a 3" bend to replace the 2.5" inch one correct? Or am I misunderstanding what your trying to do. As you said, if someone had a picture of what I would be doing, it would be alot easier. Let me know if you need my help.
Thanks,
Kyle

with the time and money that was spent by aem to research and develop that intake I would not suggest trying to modify it. I am sure that he can change what is there but you are better off letting him fab a new one then trying to play with something that you may make worse. Look into what you want to do before you attempt this

Great point tucker. I cant really help in the performance side of it, as I am not into the import scene, but rather the domestic scene. Defenitely think it over through and through before you make up your mind.

Well i think about it like this:

-The v2 intake for the gsr is 4'' at the big points and 2.75'' at the small points.
-The ITR CAI is 3'' throughout
-The Hybrid system is 3'' throughout

If the bends are similar and the piping is similar, then ripping out the 2.5'' piping on my d16y8 v2 intake and making it 3'' would make it similar to the ITR CAI/Hybrid systems.
