If it's the stock engine it will come with a D16Z6, which is a SOHC Vtec. $1000-1500 sounds pretty good if its a non-salvaged vehicle.

Know you're coming onto a forum that's been going for 4 years and saying "tell me everything". How about you search a little first.

It might be different for other states, but in Illinois, blown (or even removed)airbags = salvaged title.

Getting airbags professionally replaced = $3000
(my dad's car was totaled but I did an estimate anyways, so I know)

Why are the airbags blows? Make sure there's no frame damage.

tell him how much it will cost to fix the car and that he should lower the price $300, for 1k that doesnt seem to bad just take care of the body that rust will mean "death" muhahaha .anyways if u got 3k to dump into it go b16 and weld on some new panels

After buying the car ill have about 1500 left...the air bags are out bc the guy hit a tire in the road...the right front suspension is bent...maybe the K frame is bent....I can get all of this from a friend who has about 5 civics in parts so...idk what to do...

What damage it has:
170k miles on shell and motor
Front suspension is bent...may need new K Frame
Alternator is burnt...(wont buy unless he replaces)
Air bags are blown...(can get new ones for probably $25)
Rear Quarter panel rust...

Hes asking $1300....ill try for 1k if i do decide to buy it

I'm sure his target price he wants is 1K. I would be worried about that rust though. I would check more into the suspension being bent too.
