Default Newbie.. Bought a Tegra... Came to the Darkside :)

Boys.. Girls... Hermies... I am a Newbie.. Not to cars.. Just to Tegra's
Picked up a 97 GSR for 9K and i'm happy to say i love the car. It's my new project car and by summer it will be spanking ricers. Mods will include Jackson racing Blower, Upgraded boost, Intercooler, Nice full exhaust and probably a Short ram.
If that isn't enough to blow the engine then i don't know what will... When i do finally crack a piston... Full rebuild is expected. Nice to meet you all

I'm not a big Turbo fan... Ok the LS1 has turbo's but i only bought the kit to be different. Same goes with the GSR... Everyone turbo's a GSR... I want to be different and make big power with a Blower.

I gotta go with D-Speed here.

Turbo is much better than outdated JRSC units.

You can't intercool a JRSC, at least not on Integras. Why don't you just save yourself the hassle and beef up the motor now?

Yikes you are going from a 11 second LS1? That's great that you are open minded enough to try imports. Welcome to the board!

It was my understanding you can Intercool the JRSC for a Tegra. It lists an Intercooler for it on JRSC Yahoo shopping page. **** i should just give them a call now

Boy do i pity you guys who lived in Wilkes-Barre.. You already know how Boring it is here.

It ran that 11 Sec time with just the Twin Turbo kit bolted up to it running 6Psi. I'm running 10Psi now and with the LS6 Pieces i'm in the 10's on street tires. Just waiting to break in the engine alittle so i can get some runs in at the track.

If you think the SS is wild.. Wait till you see what i do to the Teg

Check out http://www.theoldone.com for literature on blower mods. Also noted on that site is the best header around for FI hondas are Kamikaze 4-1 just FYI but I'm sure you know what you're doing!

I appreciate all the help I can get with different headers, etc., etc., etc. I'm good at building engines but I'm brand new to the Import community and it's going to take me awhile to find out what parts are going to be the best for my setup. Thanks for the link

Okay well how does that work? I've never seen that before. SCC's project Miata uses a JR S/C w/ air-air intercooler, but the s/c is not mounted on the intake manifold like it is on Hondas. You can also use air-air intercoolers on centrifugal (Vortech) s/c's and of course turbos. I assume that one there is not air-air?

AKA water injection system. Definitely not an intercooler. Supposedly they're working on one but who know it we'll ever see it. The vortec sc can be inter(after?)cooled but it doesn't have the low-end tq of the jrsc.

Jackson racing Liquid intercooler

That's not an intercooler. That's the fluid injection system. It injects a mixture of distilled water and alcohol. It cools the charge by approx 90 degrees. My friend has this on his JRSC GSR.

He dyno'd 230whp with JRSC.

last I heard the IC for the JRSC wasn't supposed to be out till late this year, or next.

but they have the water injection for now, but better yet, put on a 20 shot of nitrous to help cool down the intake temps.

there are a few guys already doing this.

check out this board http://www.pwrhouse.com/cgi-bin/ulti...bb=forum&f=110 this is probably where 90% of all the JRSCed tegs talk shop, and can probably save you a bit of heartache early on.

I'm guessing the injection system needs to be refilled? How would it recollect it otherwise?

Yup. Some people use their windshield washer fluid reservoir.
