Bought a ReBuilt 97 3.0 CL - But...
My girlfriend bought a 97 3.0 CL for $3000 (124k miles)from a used auto lot. They told her the car is " as is" and it only had minor front damage. They never told her it was a rebuilt, they said the car has been crashed in the front, and the owner fixed it himself. All she needs to do is refix the front bumper, and paint the front bumper and fenders. So I bring the CL to my mechanic and heres whats wrong-
Timing belt never changed!
Right Turn signal is wired to windshield washer!
Front bumper has pieces glued!
Front frame is severely bent!
Right side of the firewall inside the engine is rebuilt with fiberglass!
Airbags are fake, and empty!
Airbag light has been disconnected!
AC makes a loud ticking sound!
Leather seats have holes in them!
Front headlights and rusted, and rotted inside!
This car is totally a mess, and is very dangerous to drive with the firewall being like that. There are a list of other things thats wrong. Anyways, I try bringing back the car, and the manager denied there is nothing wrong with the car but the bumper. And he said we bought it "as is".
However, my girlfriend was never notified it contained all these problems, she was just told there was light damage. Light Damage does not mean Salvaged. She signed the paperwork that said it was "as is" and was a rebuilt without reading. What should we do- Sue?
Also they let her drive the car away without insurance.
This happened in Miami, FL.

i believe once that signature is on...
your done... you can't sue
if the paper does not have a REBUILT title on there.. yeah, of course you can do something about it.
that's the first mistake she did... Is not READ it...

yes she look at the car, and the seller told it is has light damage. I wondering if theres something that can be done using the lemon laws. I believe you can not sell an undrivable car and tell the person its in excellant condition to drive. Also, I think its illegal to have the air bags sealed up without airbags inside, and the air bag switch unplugged.
if you bought the car with all these problems, then its upon you to deal with them.
im assuming you have nothing in writing regarding any kind of warranty.
lemon laws, on a used car that been beat to ****?
i think not.
more like buyers negligence.

I think so. Isn't it a crime to tamper with safety equipment? That's a biggy, IIRC.

if hes going to try and sue them he should try sueing them for this particular reason, get a quote from honda that sais like 2000 or 2500 dollars to repair airbag system and do the wirering the light back up, expletive these guys in the ***, BUT the car should have been looked over vry very well before anything was signed
so in a way your girlfreind brought this on herself but if she wants to try to get out of it the airbag thing is probably the best idea

You cant blame the dealer for hustling you, because thats what they do to everyone, but you can nail him for selling you a car with no airbags. If he diddnt tell you that the airbags are missing, then thats his *** right there. If she would have gotten in a major accident, that guy would be in more **** than corn.
