I picked up a pair of used Koni sports for the rear of my 5g. They were sold as 5g, but I just rec'd them and the number on the body is 8041-1240SP3. I found these listed as 6g Neuspeed shocks.

Anybody know the difference in rears between 5g and 6g? Anybody know the difference between these and the "right" ones? Am I stuck with 2 I can't use?

The EK (6G) rear shocks lower mount (at the LCA) will be too narrow to fit over the EG's (5G) LCA bushing. You can grind down either side of the inner collar on the LCA bushing until the shock fits over it. Just make sure to grind them as flat & parallel as possible. I hear a lot of people do this, as it comes up in threads all the time...

I wasn't implying you didn't search (H-T's search function is a P.O.S. anyways ). I meant that is seems a pretty common mod. I haven't heard anyone complain about problems doing it yet...

 

yea, you will have to grind a bit off each side of the bushing. if you decide not to do it, let me know as i am looking for some used 6g rear konis.
