HAHA...you belive this???? i work at GT Performance in montclair, CA. and yes it a boat shop. we build high end 500-1300hp motors. as well as a service shop. all we use is torco synth. blend or mobil 1 full synthetic. all that corroision resistance is crap. anything submerged in oil is corrosion guarded. and ALL oils foam. except for PS fluid which isnt an oil and if you have fuel leaking past your rings your screwed anyways. and yamalube is 2 stroke oil. unless you are referring to the 4 stroke oil. All that is, is Valvoline with a yamaha name.

The 4-m stands for 4 stroke.
So if all oil is the same why use only Mobil 1 or Torco? You should just go get the no-name oil as it costs less!

haha rob....a little off topic but when i was in norwalk ohio for the ndra finals i was in a gas station and found some oil....it was a black bottle with a wh ite lable...and all it said on it was "OIL" real big with "SAE 30" under it. no brand name or anything. it was awesome so i had to buy it just as decoration. on the back of the bottle it says "caution- this oil is not suitable for use in most gas powered engines built after 1963. use in modern engines may cause equipment harm"
best 2 dollars i ever spent!

Acutally, AutoZone sells something very similar. It comes with a Yellow sticker though, maybe it is an upgrade
, and still have that same warning on it in small print on the back -I wonder how many people use that without even reading it. I think @ AutoZone it is about $0.79 or so.

If I didnt pay for it, I would use it too!!!! (cant blame you there..
)... Its funny though oil is always such a heated debate..I work for an automotive dealer, and people are always talking about how superior synthetic oils are compared to conventional, blah,blah,etc,etc...My only argument is that I have been using conventional oil on a regular basis for the last 10 years in all the cars that I have owned, and never had any types of problems...Sorry, I am not trying to turn this in to an oil debate, I would use that **** too if it was free!!

Kroger used to sell Cost Cutter beer with only BEER on the label. I remember my grandpa drinking it when I was VERY young.

Everything you stated is true about boat oils, who ever said that automotive oil and boat oil is the same, that is wrong. Boats oils are designed to with stand way more thermal brake down the standard automotive oils, simply because boat engines are under constant load.

That's when a bottle of oil was mostly just oil. No API ratings, just Detergent or Non-detergent. I'm showing my age.
