Check engine light on but no codes, any ideas
My check engine light is coming on but no codes are being thrown, just put the B16a2 in and it runs fine, doesn't get hot or anything. Could the regular unleaded fuel be making the light come on, it requires premium. Putting some in it tomorrow. Any ideas appreciated, thanks.
I assume you're talking about your '92 Honda Civic 4dr...
which ECU are you using?
chipped?
does it come on solid or blink/flicker?
regular fuel should not cause the CEL to light.

yeah its the 92 civic, the ECU is the P30, when I turn the key it comes on solid for a few seconds when I'm trying for codes, but also does the same thing when I'm not trying to run codes.

If you are 100% sure you have the service connector bridged correctly and you are still not getting anything but a solid CEL, your ecu is bad.

sorry I was in a rush when I wrote that... double check that when you jumper the service connector pin D4 on the ECU is pulled to ground.
in other words, attach volt meter to D4, should read non-0V, jumper connector, should read 0V.
