Intake vs Cold Air Intake
Anyone have any dyno results to prove which is better. Anyone have a preference to which ones they like best. Injen makes one that is only $126.00 its not a cold air though. I am talking about the intakes for the NSX.

I love the Cantrell Concepts duct. You can get it from science of speed. It's a bit spendy, but once you hear the sound with your driver's window open, you won't have a second thought about it.
As for power? Who knows.

across the board, regardless of vehicle, cold air intakes "should" make more power as they pull in a cooler air charge. they give up some throttle response to shorter intakes because of the longer intake lenght to reach cooler air. if you don't get a well tested cold air intake it could suck up water if you drive when it rains and/or there are puddles you drive through. it is the same theory as cooling a super/turbocharged intake. cold air intakes in general should be better for your engine and power.
Gripgoat,
Yes the scienceofspeed CC intake is cool, but for $325 just for a piece of plastic I think I'll pass. As for horsepower, have yet to see an intake that overcomes the error of the dyno being used. You would be surprised how well hondas stock intakes actually flow. So in the end you are buying for the sound. Injen makes an intake for the NSX for only $126 and it comes with a filter.

It's also common knowledge that stock NSX intakes flow extremely well, which is another reason to not mess around with something like an Injen. You could be robbing yourself. Because the cantrell thing simply replaces the stock baffle that's in the fender well, leaving the stock airbox and intake piping, you can be pretty sure it will only make matters better, not worse. *shrug*
Basically, I don't really know anything about the Injen intake. All I know is that the Cantrell intake rocks, and even the people (me included) who think it's overpriced still don't regret getting it at all.
Come up to the Seattle NSX club on April 6th and drive my car with the window open, and tell me it doesn't sound awesome.
The other option is to give me some contact info for yourself, and I'll let you know next time I'm gonna be down in Vancouver, WA (it would be a weekend). Or maybe find someone down there who has one (not sure if there's anyone, try in the northwest forum on http://www.nsxprime.com ).-Mike
