Default BEST HEADER...

I am about to buy my header FINALLY!! I ordered my AEM CAI yesterday, only $212 with bypass with overnight shipping.... Anywayz, for my header I am thinking DC 4-1 of course....... anyone have a better idea? I am basically just gonna be an LS with CAI and exhuast for now. What about the JG header by Edelbrock? I heard it was pretty good. Also, is it worth the extra cash to get an SS header or will a ceramic suit me just fine?

I dont think mugen and spoon make a header for the B18b. Your best bet would be the Greddy header

I know I know.... Greddy is bomb, but I get an SS DC 4-1 brand new for about $325. So for around that price, what do you all think

I have an LS....... I did run a search, but to be honest I got lazy so I started a forum. Sorry if that makes anyone mad... Thanks for ALL the help, and I agree on all that high end stuff such as Toda. But for $330 a DC would do a lot, am I correct??

That's the problem. You're too lazy to help yourself.

The information you're looking for has been posted before. You're not the first person to ask this question.

Yup, thats the link to the big test.

To answer all the budding LS guys questions,,, NO you will not feel any Big gains with either a header or catback. Sorry but the AEM/CAI is a more noticeable performer than the H & E.

Oh and if you look at the Spoon, you notice that It performs very admirably, SMSP was a good show, Toda was good as well, but the new Hytech was not available for the test. Peak is not what you are really looking for, it's all across the board that you want.

Good luck,

A.

PS ceramic is good but, I've heard too many stories of it cracking. Plus SS looks great if it is polished.

I thought an LS would benefit better to a DC 4-2-1 header rather than a 4-1 header. Won't the 4-2-1 desing help draw out more from the midrange where the LS can thrive?

Best? Probably Spoon or Mugen.
In a few header tests the mugen didn't perform any better than a DC 4-1 that cost half the price.

I say 450 and under: DC JDM 4-1, JDM 4-1, DC 4-1, Greddy
450 - 1000 SMSP , Spoon,
1000 + hitech

greddy 4-2-1. Love it, not huge gains but some. My LS no longer falls off on the high top end anymore. Not as much difference as when i installed the iceman but its some. I think the greddy is the best quality and a decent price if you shop around. Got mine of group buy for 301 shipped from a place called turboevolution.com Took alittle while to get it instock but worth it. Also consider a high flow cat, im lookin into one now.

It's more like 900+ for the spoon and 1000+ for the SMSP. Good stuff isn't cheap.

good god, would you guys stop being anzzizizi about posting new threads. so what if it is a repeat, if you do not want to talk about it then don't even click on it. Peoples idea and sug changes over time just because back then i said your a dumbass does not mean that i'm going to say the same about you now although it might be the case. if people do not ever repeat anything then the boards will just evnetally die out of stuff and get super boring like you. so stop complaining if you don't have anything helpful or nice to say then post your own new thread you moron.

If you're going bolt on's only, then DC 4-2-1, or Comptech 4-2-1. The test vehicle was an ITR. If you put on a header with a 2.5" collector you will gut your midrange on an LS.

WRONG.

The board won't eventually die off. It will make it less cluttered of an excess of repetetive useless bandwidth. Which header for which application is NOT an opinion, but fact, which WILL NOT change over time.

A JDM 4-1 from DC isn't going to change it's mind and decide not to make more power than a Chikara header 3 months from now.

And now when people do a search for header, MORE useless crap gets returned because of posts like these. Jesus Freaking Christ I can't beleive the stupidity of folks these days.
