Default New rider needs bike

I have driven a 200 hp car so I should be able to handle most anything out there. A friend let me learn how to ride on his 999 - which feels ok but is too common. I want to get a MV Agusta, either the F4-1000 S or F4-1000 Tamburini if I can find one. Is this good for a new rider? I dont have my license, or permit yet, will they let me test ride it? I heard that you don't really need anything other than the permit anyways, because VA dosen't really care about the actual license. Which is good cause I can save some money by skipping that msf class.

Also, what is a good helmet? I want something under $150.

this si gonna be fun.

a 200hp car isnt anything...

a 600cc bike would be fine for you. Idont know why you would want to jump on a 40k bike as a new rider (if you have the money).

second. if your gonna spend so much money on the bike, why not go all the way and get some really good gear, not a $150 p.o.s helmet.

Handle this guy jlacoy

Go for the MV Mamba, it's almost as fast an Indy car, magazines said so. You can get by with a Kenneth Cole leather jacket too, just get some skateboard elbow pads and some weight lifting gloves

OK, I'll bite -

Tamburini's are sold out as far as I know and I would be hard pressed to call a 999 (any version) common and spendin $65k for yer first bike is great if that's whatcha wanna do.

Money no object (as it seems here), I would recommend buying a new 600 class sportbike (or Ducati 749 in any version) and spend the $ on instructional track days (Keith Code, Freddy Spencer, STAR, Kevin Scwantz to name a few) and then after sufficient training, make the leap to the big bike.

My .02

PS - happy fishing

I didnt know the price difference was that much - I thought it was just like the difference between a lx and a ex or something like that, I guess the S is the one I want then.

Who are these people you listed? Are they trainers? The thing is, I dont think I really need to go to class, because I can drive around on a bike now ok, I just have some problems sometimes trying to turn when I am going too fast, but that has only happened a couple times.

And to Brian - I dont think I need any of the pads because I am not going to be track racing, just street driving and some street racing and stuff, and I already have a leather jacket.

You two are just haters. You probably both wear girls jackets. Don't be jealous when I get everyones attention when you are wearing girl jackets and riding scooters.

Hopefully we can get back on topic .

see if you go to classes, they show you how to prevent things like this. When to start breaking, how to turn, body positioning.
do us a favor and take the MSF course. Everyone thinks they dont need it, but trust me man... its worth the money... its $150 if your under 21, and 21+ its $198. (in Cali, not sure about other states)

Get the proper gear before getting a bike.

No, you won't. Ceas is a knowledgeable individual who is trying to see what kind of reaction he can get out of the people in here.

I'd say a pretty light reaction. I guess there is some civility?

Ceas is actually the type of person that would only wear that while riding, but with a helmet

really??? depending on where you take it in VA it's $60 - $120. I paid $85 for C-Ville and the instructors were awesome!
