Hm....i put out 142 with gsr engine and aem cai. Maybe that custom exhaust is screwing you up?

143 is decent for a close to stock GSR, the typical number floating around...You won't find a stock GSR w/ 150Whp that was dynoed on a dynojet....Don't expect big gains for intake and exhaust bolt-ons...

sounds low for a GS-R w/ Bolt-Ons. Those numbers are what Si's put out...

The secondary runners shouldn't affect the peak hp. Numbers are about right. I would definately check on that exhaust. A crush bent b pipe can really hurt you.

Not true, I put down 152 WHP with AEM CAI, and Greddy Evo catback on a dyno jet
I am dynoing my new setup tomorrow, check out my signature....
Care to make any predictions?

Hey guys,

First, are you saying you made 143 WITHOUT the secondaries opening up, or are they always opened?

IF they are not opening, you would probably be losing peak HP, since the open runners (switching at ~5800) is the optimal configuration for high rpm. If you are losing TQ at high rpm, esp in our TQ deficient cars, you are losing peak HP.

143 isn't "that" bad, but it's probably a little low.

What state of tune is the engine? If it's high mileage, might need maintenance. Could be simple things like fuel filter, plugs, rotor, plug wires, etc. If all of that has been done, or the motor is new, I bet most of the problem is the secondaries.

If the secondaries are always open, then you would be hurting low rpm power, but it shouldn't have much affect on peak HP.

For reference, back when I had Iceman wetlands (hot air), Neuspeed header, Greddy Exhaust, and 64 mm TB, I only made 151 HP. That same night, I added CTR intake cam, removed PS belt, added UR crank pulley, and Stillen FPR and jumped to 165 HP.

Later, switched to Iceman Drylands (CAI), added 270 CC injectors, MSD ignition, Field SFC, and made 173 HP and 124 TQ.

Now my car is basically fugged and I'm either parting it out or selling it dirt cheap. It runs and is somewhat quick, but it's losing TONS of oil. Needs rings or valve guides, and I just can't drop any more cash.

152, lets just say its unusual.
Pretty sweet setup. W/ all that and some good tuning you'll be hitting the boarder on 200whp.
