Crushed oil pan...95 LX daily driver....
My last post on here was a tranny leak which I was then directed to a rear main seal leaking into the bell housing. After dropping the tranny and getting to the seal I found that this was true but did all of this before I actually CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL! With the DUMBASS part out of the way...It never dawned on me to check the oil b/c I change it myself and would not make such a stupid mistake as to overfill the engine. Upon further inspection, I have found that the oil pan was crushed inward on the bottom of it with the perfect imprint of your everyday floor jack. I dropped it at tire shop by my work to have one of the tires replaced and my guess would be the new boy jacked it up using the oil pan and crushed it under the weight of the car. Im sure you loved the great story however my questions are...1. with the oil now at the appropriate level (minus space for crushed pan) there is no leak. Whether it was the rear seal or somewhere else, is it possible that there is no further damage if it is still not leaking? Will it leak from overfilling (obviously) and then be fine once adjusted? Also, this is your basic 95 LX, It runs amazing and I love driving it (nothing like the drifter) but I would like to know if a higher priced "performance" oil pan would make enough of a differance to warrant the extra cost for the better pan. Any and all opinions (if you know your stuff) are welcome.
In my knowledge of garages...getting them to pay for something is pointless. Can someone aswer my question about the leak being gone since draining extra oil and if it will leak when overfilled but be fine once adjusted?
