How important is having an adjustable frequency when welding alum?

How important is having an adjustable frequency when welding alum?
Im just wondering because im stuck on debating between a transformer or inverter machine. Most transformer machines i have seen dont have an adjustable frequency im just wondering how important this feature is when welding aluminum
