i am wondering if the mufflers are the same other than the tip that comes on the si? An answer would be great people

they're not the same, but it will bolt up if that's what you're thinking.

Si has a little bit bigger tip (cheesy)

 

i know the si has a bigger tip im just wondering if its the same muffler like flow wise as the ex just with a factory tip on the si one?

 

i believe the muffler is different....

that is what i though i think the si one flows better.

 

same, same part #, at least the exhausts we sold at my old shop (aftermarket oem replacements)

also of note, put the stock exhaust off of my si onto a customers ex, they were the same. (he couldnt afford a new exhaust so i cut him a deal)

 

right i know that they will both fit im just wondering if the si flows better than the si because someone wants to trade me my axel back for a stock ex axel back but i have an si and i wanted to know if the ex flows as good as the si muffler

 

I've read that they're the same exhausts.

 

I don't see how they're really ALL that different. If you're shopping for an aftermarket exhaust, the part numbers between one for an EX and Si will be the same. meaning they'll bolt up to either one.

The Si has a bigger tip because it has a cover over the tip of the actual pipe to make it look more attractive.

 

ok let me clear this up i have an aftermarket exhaust on my car but i am wanting to trade for stock axel back i have a 00 si and someone offered me a 98 ex axel back and i am wondering if it will flow as good as the stock si axel back

 

I see it's a problem with size, not fitment. The mufflers might be completely different, I've never looked under a stock EX and compared to my car.

 

its not a prob of size im sure they are the same size you wanna trade me for you stock axelback off you si

I'm currently in the process of shipping back the GTII RS*R sent me, for the Exmag I wanted.

When that arrives and I get my Exmag installed, I'll happily send you (at your expense) my stock exhaust.

It's 5 years old with 71,5xx miles on it, and I live in Indiana with snow, salt, etc. It's yours if you want it (when I'm done with it)

didnt i just say that i put my oem em1 exhaust on an ex and they were EXACTLY the same, except for the tip?

 

exterior wise they look the same the piping is the same except for the tip. i doubt it flows better, even if it does the diffrence would be minimal
