Default Recommendation on lug nuts??

Well I have a set of wheels and I wanted to see some recommendation and experience some of you folks have had with various lug nuts. I heard some higher end lug nuts like Rays, because of weakness, will actually deform over time just by simply taking and putting back on. I also heard that the Muteki lugs, it seems the keys deform after a while and actually break.

But, my needs, well, weight is not "too" important. Bling, no. I really dont need the unwanted attention. I also will HAVE TO GET a WHEEL LOCK SET or something along those lines. So, when making a recommendation, I would also like to know some about wheel locks as well.

Thanks.

I've got Gorilla lugs & locks (chrome w/ closed ends). They have worked flawless for the past 6 years.

Those racing lugs will probably have durability problems in the long run because they are made to push the performance envelope. Since race teams have the equipent, money & knowledge to deal with any problems caused by using aluminum lugs, it's an easier trade off for the few grams of weight savings...

I would rather go with something like steel or something similarly strong to gain a few grams. I dont think it will be "that" noticable on the street. Plus, form over function is key (atleast to me anyways). I need something strong that will last.

What about these lug nuts??

Your link doesn't work unless you have an account..

Also, you wouldn't EVER notice any difference in performance no matter what. It's all a numbers game. One H-T member said he didn't even notice the slightest bit of difference when he switched from Rota Slipstreems over to Spoon SW-whatevers (several pounds difference each wheel)...

Whatever you do don't go with kyokugen(?). They seized on 7 of the 16 wheelstuds (yes antiseize was used!) and had to take it to a mechanic to get them off. most wheel locks I've dealt with are pretty much the same.

I got a McGard spline drive locking kit. Needs two different keys to get all the lugs off. Worked great for me!
