anyone heard about the nelson hoyos aussie tour... guess im just looking to see whether quantum racing industries will be ponying up sponshorship money so nelson can rejoin nhraprofwd next year?
need more profwd cars!!!!
QUANTUM RACING INDUSTRIES
NELSON HOYOS PRO FWD TOUR
Quantum Racing Industries of Logan City in QLD in association with Small Car Productions are proud to announce the Quantum Racing Industries Nelson Hoyos PRO FWD Tour at the 2005 Fast Fours Jamboree at Willowbank Raceway, QLD on September 17th & 18th.
Thanks to Quantum Racing Industries, Nelson Hoyos, 2 time American PRO FWD Champion and NHRA Sport Compact Record Holder will be at the 2005 Fast Fours Jamboree with a brand new, GM PRO FWD car. The new car will be a updated version of his 2004 model GM PRO FWD that Hoyos set the current PRO FWD records in.
The new car will be powered by the 2.0-litre Turbocharged 4-cylinder Ecotec engine that pushed the 2004 PRO FWD car to a 7.40 @ 194.88mph.
“The new car we’ll bring to Australia for the 2005 Fast Fours Jamboree will have a few new tricks and we hope to smash our 7.40sec record while in Australia” said Hoyos.
During the event we’ll see Hoyos preforming exhibition passes and a number of match races over the weekend. Match race contenders are still under wraps but rumour has it a prominent V8 PRO Stock Car will be one of the contenders.
As part of the tour, Quantum Racing Industries will be hosting a technical seminar for competitors and invited guests. One of the guest speakers at the Seminar to be run on Saturday night after time trials conclude, will be Nelson Hoyos himself speaking about the latest developments in the Sport Compact scene in America. The seminar will also feature the latest technology in Sport Compact Performance parts available from Quantum Racing Industries. Nelson didn't end up coming down, something about not having the car ready! Quantum were pretty upset but i guess they couldn't do much about it. Was really looking forward to seeing it race here in OZ..
