i been trying to look for my FITV. i read it in a honda factory service manual, and have ask people on HT and all of them said its right under the Throttle body. well i taken off my TB and i can't seem to find it still. please help. here are some pics of my TB.

 

Is it just me, or does everyone else not see any picts? What kind of motor, and what year?

 

its 94 civic hatch cx. really? i see pics, but i did post it up...hmm does anybody else not able to see pics?

 

is the motor a cx motor? if not, what is it and what year is it?.. some obd2 motors do not have the fitv.
For example, heres a pic of 3 different b series tb's..
one of them doesnt have one.

 

look inside your throttle body

if you have two hols on the left side

the one on top is the IACV the bottom is the FITV

if you just have the top one then you dont have a FITV

Wrong. You can have both the holes and still no FITV. Quite common actually.

will the bottom hole still have suction when the car is first turned on if he has 2 holes?

cause if not he could check it for suction as well. if not then ill leave this one alone

No. The hole will be there, but it won't go to anything.. so yes, I guess you could fire it up when its cold and check for suction to confirm if you have a FITV or not.. of course this is assuming the FITV workd correctly.

 

i believe i only have 1 hole on the top left of my throttle body. does that mean i have no FITV? does cx motor have FITV? is it possible that somebody change the throttle body because i am not the original owner. does everyone see the pics i posted??

also cars that dont have FITV would it cause the problem high idling?

dude, your pictures do NOT work. If you only have one hole you don't have a FITV. Whats the damn big deal about having one anyways?

No. All the FITV is for is to allow the car to idle higher when cold. Once the car warms up, it closes (should when working right) and lowers the idle. If anything, HAVING one would make it idle high as they tend to leak and require adjustment.

 

if you had one and now dont have one and the hole isnt blocked off, YES you will have a high idle.

If you have one and its broken, YES it can cause a high idle.

If you dont have one and the holes are blocked off NO it will not cause a high idle.

If you have one and it is bypassed NO it will not cause a high idle.

Those things are cheap and rely on a wax diaphram and melting and are prone to break/fail. I just bypassed mine completely.
