GSR block or B20 block???
hey was wondering if i can get your guys/girls input, i have a chance to either get a GSR block or b20 long block, thing is i tried searching to see wat block is better but didn't really find anything and i know it matters on wat my plans are, which are to either boost it or all motor it, i have a LS right now, and planning to boost that, but just wants some insight on the block, specs, power it can handle and wat not, thanks ppl

More displacement, good to add a Vtec head too, more TQ, blah blah blah. Honestly unless you have some cash to drop into a B20Vtec build I'd strongly reccomend the GSR.
well i was just going to throw in the LS for now, just to swap it, gsr i would still need to come up with a head and ecu
b20 will be almost impossible to pass ref, the b20 is a light truck engine, not a passenger car engine. so it will not pass the EPA chassis/ engine config. the ls can be turned into a b20 if you just up the sleeve size. the gsr will reduce your stroke and allow the engine to rev higher safer. i am an ls guy myself, and enjoy the benefits of it. but between b20 and gsr, gsr is better.
The gsr bottom end is designed to withstand a higher rpm. It has a main cap girdle, oil squirters (so if you decide to stay with stock cast pistons.) and all you have to do to install a vtec head is bolt it on. There is no ls/vtec kit to install due to all the oil passages being in the propper place.
Go with the GSR you will not regret it.
