removing heatshild/ adding heat wrap ???
I'm planning on not using the oem heat shield when installing my aftermarket headers and wrap the new header nicely with a good heat wrap to make the engine bay look more attractive. It's that going to compromised anything? suck as extra heat in the bay, more heat hitting the hood, lack of function or performace? I'm always looking for fuctionality to make my car perform and look better when adding aftermarket not the opposite.
It depends on the header you plan to use. Heat wrap will retain heat in the header. This has a tendancy to cause inferior welds to crack.
Other than that I don't see a problem.

You will be fine then.

most so call stainless steel headers end up getting stain anyaway, it's just a matter of time and they first begin to change color and eventualy look brown. I've seen this with mugens, greddy and dc's etc;
To not change the topic too much I'm worry about having a bare open header without a heat shield, that's why I'm planning on heat wrapping it.

Make sure you wrap them good and they don't come apart. They will get wrapped up in everything and eventually cause harm.
It's a cheap way to hide a crappy header. Definitly a nice looking thing to do but offers no real power gain, just keeps the heat in the exhaust instead of in the engine bay.

ludesrv what're you, new? Listen to what you said:

by keeping the engine bay temps down, you're keeping your intake air temps down
basic knowledge, you ready? cooler air = denser air = more power.
