Default AVS ES 100... hahaha

whats up all. took my integ gsr to the track the past weekend. i had a problem hooking up. the best i could launch it without getting crazy burnouts and wheel hop was 2500. anything over that was just ridiculous. 60 ft. times on 2500 launch 2.33s. at around 2700 i got 3.1s on the 60 foot. tested this a few times since i was able to run it about 10 times. my question is, what is the best street legal tire i can use that has really good hook up on the track?

i know this is not an all motor question. i also posted this in the tire/wheel section. i figured i'd get better responses here than there. thanks in advance

no tire can overcome wet weather conditions, for the best traction in wet weather, get a water traction tire, like michelin pilot sports or something.

I've heard good things about the KDW 2 from bfg also. They obviously wont give as much traction as the radials but have a better longer treadwear rating for street driving

yeah BFG drags are good. my dad runs them on his '55 Bel Air and they work really good. He used to drag race bigtime so he knows what to look for and im sure he choose those for a reason.

at the moment im running the ECSTA 712's which aren't bad for all round weather, i'd love the BFG's but they aren't really suited for winter.

I used to see consistent low 2.2" 60s in my dc2_GSR with 205/50 es100s with about 24.5psi front, 45 in the rear running 14.58-68 at 95ish. The car had about 165-170whp, full int. on the stock tranny. I'm sure the drag radials woulda helped but I found for me that these tires worked well for what I did with them.

KDW2>ES100>712, owned all three, currently running the KDW2's, rolled the fenders to fit 225's on 16's and loving them. The BFG DR is not really a daily driver street tire, but I used to have a pair for racing, although the Hoosier DR blows it away if you're going to get a set of track tires. I haven't tried the 615's yet, maybe next.

car ran 14.50 at 98.38mph with 2.331 60' ft. @ 24psi. im sure if i could launch harder i would've had 14.4 if not lower.

i think i will invest in some bf drag radials.

I will have to agree, there not too bad and for the price there dam good. Stiffer mounts and LSD would help with the wheel hop and the hooking up problems

ES100's are the worst tires Ive owned even though NSXtasy will flame for that comment

Best tires Ive owned in order are..
Bridgestone RE540's, Hankook Ventus 212, Falken Azenis 215's

I have some es100's and think they are pretty decent. I was getting a consistant 2.25- 2.3 60' times last time I went. I had the fronts down to 22psi. I tried just for the hell of it at 35psi and couldnt hook up.
