I love my Optrel OSEvolution works very well! wide range of adjustability (6 to 13) you can adjust the sensibility also they are not cheap but I own one for 3 years now and I don't regret it at all! (sorry for my poor english)
i have an old battery powered speedglas pipeline helmet
i have a new automatic helmet that looks like the new speedglas helmets but has a lens speed that is twice that of speedglas.
i have a regular pipeline helmet.
and i have my AirLiquide confined space helmet.

Bought this one a long time ago. $50 bucks, if you are looking for one like this, harbor freight is has a 20% off coupon.

Say what you want, it works great.

Man! I'm seriously the oddball on Honda Tech. I use a Jackson Nexgen.
Shade adjustable (9-14), delay adjustable, there's also grinding and torch modes which I've pretty much never used. its pretty comfortable, light, everything's adjustable. The big window isn't that big a deal, but I guess its not a bad thing to have.
I love it, works great.
So everyone here welds with miller machines, miller or speedglass helmets...I had to go out to my lincoln/jackson stuff, and check the badge on my car to make sure I didn't belong at hyundai tech or something

Niles, I'm with you in liking Big Red! ... but Big Blue is a good machine also... so you have at least one other friend on the board... but it may be our closeness to the Big Red Factory
speedglass all the way by far the best helmet out there fitment wise and also quality
best money spent and well worth it to invest into something that will last and prevent you from ruining your eye site down the road

not for small tacs and **** like that i know its dumb but i got used to it at catapiller when welding a builidng that is 120 F it sucks especialy when you have a mask on so just got used to doing tacs and small welds with out wearing a mask (and yes i did pass all my weld tests like that)
I picked this guy up about 2 months ago and couldn't be happier.

I was using the $50 harbor freight helmet before, although the comfort is not the best and you couldn't change the sensitivity on it. I would be working at home under bright fluorescents and the glass would be shaded already. Also, their #9 lightest setting is darker than the Miller model, which makes a big difference for me.
