Default Will the rims rub?

OK, I’ve looked everywhere and asked just about everyone and I haven’t been able to get an answer....I have a '95 Civic, 2 door DX (I know...lol) Anyways, I want to put some new rims on the car but Im not sure if they will rub. The car doesn’t have power steering. I’ve never had a car that didn’t have that so I don’t know. I mean the car has rims on it now. But they are like some 15" who knows what brand rims. Anyways I want some Motegi MR7 rims, 17" preferably, with the tire size 205/40-17. But like I said, I don’t know if they will rub when I turn because of the lack of power steering.

Rims: Motegi MR7: 17x7
Tires: 205/40-17

If you think I should change the tire or rim size let me know... Would the 205/40-17 be a good size for the tire. The car isnt lowered and I dont have any plans on lowering it....Thanks

Man you DO NOT want to throw 17's on your car without lowering it! A buddy of mine in high school did this on his civic and it looked RETARDED! - Looked more like he but a SkyJacker kit on his car

So then what would you suggest? Lowering the car or different rim size?

40 for your sidewall is fine even if you are lowered. (still speaking of the 17s)

I'm going to not only suggest not going 17s, but with those wheels especially. Those are very heavy wheels. The 15s weigh 18 lbs. so those must weigh at least 20. They will make your car slower than it already is due to rotational mass. Plus you'll have to use more brake to stop.

So then what about the Katana GR-7's or the Katana Destiny's?

I ran 205/40/17 on my EK and never had a problem. I ran with neuspeed race springs (junk).

Also PS or no PS has no effect on if a wheel will rub or not.

Yeah I had some 17's with Neuspeed sports (ALSO JUNK!) - Anyhow, I never really had a rub problem... maybe on sharp turns but I rolled my fenders and it was fine.
