Default J's racing intake + replica

I'm looking into buying a J's racing intake, but I've found that the replica from passwordjdm is somewhat cheaper than the J's.

I have the money for both of them, but I am just wondering if the replica would do the job.

So... what which one would YOU buy?

Hah, so far the general consensus seems to point towards, "ditch both and buy an aem itr intake."

There's a couple of threads floating around detailing why the aem unit is better.

I have the J's and if I could do it all over again I'd just buy the password version. carbon fiber is carbon fiber. The designs look the same and one is cheaper. Pretty easy decision

Maybe it's just be but I don't buy knock off's of anything. I don't care if it's K-mart socks vs say TH socks or whatever. If your gonna do it, do it.

my DIY velocity stacked intake system > mugen > AEM caI > J's racing

j's racing intake is more for looks than performance to me.

when u pop the hood with j's racing intake on it.. the engine bay looks sick compared to aem or my diy intake ..

Have you dyno tested against these other brands or are you assuming?

What are you doing with the car as in RR, drag racing or what? For RR I'd say the J's or Mugen, for all out drag racing go for the AEM. Me personally I like the throttle response on my J's.

It's an intake. Make sure it has a quality filter on it, and the diameter of the tubing is correct. The biggest mistake you can make is to get some narrow-*** intake tube.

As stated above, get an ITR intake (if you don't have a GS-R). It's a full 0.5" larger in diameter.

Wrong. The GS-R AEM Cold air intake is 2.75" and the Type R version is 3". That makes it .25" smaller!

Just get your TB bored if you don't have an ITR TB.

One thing I can and will comment on is that as stated above the throttle response between the J's and the AEM CAI is unbelievable.

I have had problems in the summer with my J's sucking in red top dragon's breath and being a pig in traffic though

If I lived in a climate that saw little rain I would buy another CAI.
