D16A6 Automatic?
While stripping my car for a major overhaul I came into a little problem I have had this car for about 4 months now and now im getting around to fixing it so I have a couple questions
1. Did the d16a6 come in automatic ,mines is, and would it have a clutch cable because I have a wire that looks like a clutch cable and is connected to the clutch cable mount and moves but it does not connect to anything, it is just there where would it connect to on a D16A6 engine. I have pic if you want to see.
2. On the Obd0 ecu how could I tell what ecu it is.
3. How long does the throttle body cable have to be the one that is connected to mines is about a 2 feet long I have to wrap it to keep it from going every-where?

Ok so no automatic now I have to figure out what to do with my A6 since that means the Ecu is either not the stock si ecu (pm6 i think) or it is made for a manual.

Also just for reference. There are Auto A6's they came in the 90-91 EX As stated above,
They didnt use PM6 PCM's tho, they use a PS9. I know cuz im staring at one right now.
And yes that should be a kickdown cable on your transmision.

wrong.....may be right for the good ol' USA but here in canada there are 1990-1991 Civic Si HB Automatic's and no they do not run a PS9 but rather a auto version of the PM6
i know this for a fact because i am using one that i purchased labelled PM6 and it is continually throwing a lock up solenoid code
ill take a pic of it if you require it
there are a whole **** load of auto Si's for sale all the time in canada

They exist, I can confirm it. I've seen a few around here, and they're not as rare as you might think.

first sorry if i repeat iny info. kinda skimed the thred
the only auto A6 that i know of was 90-91 ex sedan. that "clutch cable" is the kick down cabke and tells the trany when to shift. more throttle it'll shift later or father apart. the corect ecu to use (assuming a6 is stock I.E. MPFI) is PS9. if your car is a auto and/or it has a PS9 there should be a wht/red wire on A10. thats your park lock. I.E. brake presed + ecu is good (in park, .5 tps) = can take out of park.
i did the MPFI swap on my auto LX sedan. so basicly i got a EX FI system though using 90% SI parts. went rather well once i figued out how evretthng goes. u need a auto TB too b/c it has a bracket and a 2-cable throtle wheel. if that cable is not hooked up to the throttle it will go from first to fourth in about 3-4 seconds :S
ifu want a little more info on this look on my mpfi swap thread:

a pic just for the hell of it. u kan knda see the kickdown cable and how it conects to the TB.

Diemaster is correct. You will need a 90-91 Civic EX auto throttle body to hook up the kickdown cable correctly.

I can vouch for this! I tried using a manual tb with single throttle wheel and the car didn't shift very well
Here is a closer pic of my dual throttle wheel:

Also I'm not sure if you mentioned it, but what kinda car do you have?
