Default Winter wheels fitted!

So what do you all think?
Winter wheels.

Summer Wheels:

I still prefer my Advan TCs but i love the improved acceleration with the RGs. I bought a set of new Toyo T1Rs for the RGs and grip is much improved compared to the T1S tyres i have on my TCs. But TCs will be going back on in spring...purely for looks!

TC's are 17".
RG's are 16"

I'm almost positive you've got the two comparisons reversed..

You should NOT be driving on RG's in the winter!

And the TC's look WAY 1999 - but thats just me...

Alexander speaks the truth. RG's are pimp, the others are kinda meh.
Toyo T1R's are hot. I just picked up a set for the CE28's.

Our climate is very mild and we get very little snow, just a lot of rain and more rain. I dont drive my car in the snow (when we do get it) i have a trusty little citroen POS beater for that job. In the last 3 weeks i have put up less than 20 miles on the R

I guess to me it would be like riding a bike in the rain down here. By no means am I calling you out as I know how hard it is to have 2 cars. Hell I didn't want to drive my R in the rain. It's not so much me I'm worried about, now the other idiots who don't know how to drive in those conditions....

TBH having 2 cars is no big deal, my insurance company allows me to shadow my no claims discount from my integra for a second car. I paid a little over $1000 for the citroen (its a 1995 car) and insurance is just $450 a year for it. The ITR costs me $750 a year for full comprehensive cover.

As for whether i have the right wheels on for winter...the RGs are straight but have a lot of stone chips/curb marks etc...the TCs are almost mint. Closer to the summer when i put the TCs back on again, i may get the RGs repainted and i'll decide then what to run on.

I also went and bought a set of 96spec ITR wheels and tyres, but i was saving them (as they have intermediate slick tyres) for track/drag events.

Some of us don't have a choice.

My other car is a motorcycle from 1986.

To the OP: Your winter wheels look much better than your summer wheels.

i'd use go viceversa.

use your summer rims for winter. and use the RG for summer.

your summer rims = Fugly if u ask me.

RG =

so.. might as well expletive up the uglier rim than the RG right?

I think it's funny that you have "winter wheels" for rain, and you have a set of summer tires on them (although this makes sense, since summer tires are fine for rain, and winter tires, or all-season tires, are only necessary for those who drive in snow, which you don't).

On this side of the pond, many of us who live in areas that experience winter weather (snow, ice, frigid cold) have a set of winter wheels for that purpose, and use winter tires for that portion of the year. And those of us who live in areas with a mild climate just use the same wheels all year round, with summer tires on them.

The reason i have put them on is that I like the TCs and theyre in mint condition. Our roads are a mess in winter and with all the muck and grime that builds up theyre also sore on wheel paintwork. The RGs badly need repainting and so i'll keep them on for winter and then get repainted in the summer time again. We get very little snow/ice and the T1R tyres are more than suited to our wet weather.
