Hi guys, i need some help here.
I know every B-series engine has this "dieselish" sound, but how loud is it?
I am talking about a stock B18C Type R engine. Sometimes i think its too loud, and i know that if i put in it some valve springs, the noise will be louder.
Now, how loud is it in your engines?
Do i need valve adjustment?

 

All I know is when I put valve springs in my motor all the ticking stopped

I had my valves adjusted when i fitted a new timing belt last year and it did very little to soften the engine tick over noise. After some investigation (with a screwdriver used as a stetoscope) i found that the predominant ticking noise was from my injectors and not the valves...they really are loud ****'s when listened to closely!
