heres where it is

heres what it looks like

pr3-1 is the cast code of your head.

pr3 is the code for b16/ITR/CTR

p72 for GSR

pr4 and p75 for LS's

i dont know for b20's

you have a b18c block and a pr3 head

if it came from honda like that, its an out of the US ITR engine (probably 11:1 compression and 200hp)

someone could have put an import GSR block together with a PR3 head though... you'd have to open it up to tell.

Right, I thought USDM GSR's had a 1 after the C? Perhaps not on all?

I'm assuming the motor didn't come in the shell considering it has a pr3 head?

for the love of all things HOLY SEARCH.

now, to tell the year of the block will be damn near impossible (assuming somone slapped on a PR3 head to a b18c (gsr) block). other then that on the head there are 3 circles, the middle circle delinates the year of the head and typically the motor if its not all screwey. mods lock this thread please as the search function could have answered ALL of these questions

ecu is basically the computer that controls the engine, it's not actually part of the engine.

This is all from memory so there MIGHT be some discrepancies from what I'm telling you

Granted this could have been found with a search, it is a rather intimidating thing for someone who hasn't seen this before. Take it easy on him

To the op, because all of these codes are more than 3 characters, you can just put them into the search engine at the top right of your window. It should come up with threads allowing you to determine what's in your car.
