Default bought my first car (short shifter installation)

just bought a 90 hatch with leather interior and sunroof, i have big plans for this car but im gonna start small until i start saving for my swap, a b16 OBD1, i ordered a type R shortshifter. Could anyone tell me the general idea of how to go about installing it, i dont want to have to pay someone if i dont have to. PS, the the manual is shiiit so dont tell me to read it lol

take out your old shifter....and put the short shifter in....could had just went ghetto and cut the top off

whats the difference between installing a short shifter and just cutting the stock one shorter?

The person who did that to my car before I bought it didnt do it very well, and it broke on me, on a 5 lane highway with NO place to turn off. That day sucked. I like the whole idea of the one piece setup, less **** breaks that way.

There's like 4 bolts you need to unscrew to do this. It's fairly straightforward. Get a manual and jack the car up, once you look under there you'll get it.

A true short shifter has a shorter throw. I believe this topic was covered only a few days ago...With pics of how to install to boot.

Do yourself a favor and DONT buy the aluminum SS on ebay or elsewhere. They are JUNK and <U>always</U> break. Ive replaced them when they broke off at the ball and the car had to be towed. IMHO Hondas dont need SS, I have a GSR shifter in my EF hb, works great and it will never break. My .02
