koni and omni
Ok so I was thinking about getting some new suspension. Does anyone have Koni yellows with the omni power coil slips? Would this be a good setup. I dont have the money for the GC/Koni setup. Would it be better to get the omni full coilovers, GC/Tockico, or Omni coil slips and Koni Yellows? This is a daily driven car. I once saw a thread where some cheap coilovers broke or something on the yellows. Will this happen with the omnis?
Thanks
Thanks
i dont believe omnipower adjustable spring kit, aka slipovers, will fit properly over koni's. youll need some adaptor to fit over the snap rings. you might want to double check with omni about that. you dont want to put them on over the separate lower perch that comes with konis, they just dont like that.

Honestly, if I were you, I would save up for the Koni/GC combo. No sense in buying lower quality stuff and then having problems with it. The Koni/GC is a proven (many times over) combination that works very well. You might be able to find some other stuff like Skunk2 et. al that might work, but why take a chance?

no, dont get omni adjustable spring kit. too stiff, and justa poor quality spring and a cheap sleeve and collar. not worth your money, and not going to get you want you want.

definately, yes.
using a regular spring kit and good shocks like illuminas or konis will be your best bet.

well would a setup like tockico illuminas and some h&r race have better handling then say some omni coilover (the ones with just ride height ajustability) and which one would be more comfourtable (sp?) ride? my guess would have to be omni coilovers= better handling and tockico/h&r better ride is that right?

I would just stay away from the omni all together. They're very stiff and poor quality.

I can't say about the handling, because stiffer is not always better; and the Tockicos may not even be able to dampen the spring properly. H&R will most likely give the better ride, but it's just a much better product.
I'd actually go with those and a set of Konis, and then you'd still have some ride height adjustability with the adjustable collar.

They're a low quality product.

That's just recent topics in the suspension forum. 1/2 of them are people complaining about bouncy / stiff ride. The springs are very stiff to be able to 'dump' a car and make up for their low quality. Most people don't run adequate shocks for this, which just compounds the problem. Pick them up if you want, just be prepared that it may not be what you were expecting.

Yes I know and I have searched. But I think I am going to not get the omni coilover setup instead I think I will just save a little more money and look into something like the tein basics. but thank you for the info.
