A Second Attempt on My ITRs Life
As many of you may remember, back in April some fools tried to bust into my garage to steal the R without success. ( https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1210536) My home security system was activated and they fled.
Jump to today. I have been in Idaho with family for Thanksgiving and was driving back yesterday and got stranded in Wyoming after they closed the freeway due to blizzards and high winds. This morning I get a call from a friend who was notified at 2:30AM by my security company that my alarm had been set off and it was the garage. Police were callled and he rushes over to make sure things are ok with the house and car.
They kicked in a panel on my garage door and crawled through - setting off the alarm. But here is the scary aprt: I know it was the same people as before becasue this time, knowing there was an alarm in there, they cut all the power lines running to the garage in an attempt to deactivate it. That didn't work and the alarm did its job again but I'm worried that they will eventually win.
I get home and find my car ok - no damage, nothing taken. They did take off the car cover and somebody had been inside of it. I'm freaked out because I know there is the higest chance they will come back with a better plan.

Scary ****. Screw time to call the security company, it's time to get a really big pissed off dog and a high powered rifle to take them down while being chased by the dog. GL either way. Glad to hear the car is still there and in one piece.
Any chance of getting some bars to eliminate the windows/panels as a point of entry for the scumbag thieves? Dave_B is on the right track with a dog for security as another measure.
Layer the security on your home as we do with our R's.
expletive, expletive, expletive, expletive, expletive, expletive, expletive, expletive, thieves

Wow.... Jon glad to hear the car wasn't stolen. I couldn't imagine having gone home and found things the way they were. I sincerely hope that this doesn't lead to another theft attempt.
Wow, I don't know what to say. It's amazing what length thieves will go to. After hearing your story, I'll have to be a little more careful with mine.

Yah get a digital video feed. Get a louder siren inside the garage that will drive them away. And get better locks and make sure your windows and everything is alarmed and motion detectors
It blows my mind that people have the odacity to do such a thing. If you were close to me I'd let you keep my dog overnite. "Natas" doesnt like people he doesnt know.

the fucktard thieves are probably reading this post, just like they probably read the last one. need to stop posting about it IMO. or atleast stop posting details about your security set up. get some kind of heavy duty gate/fence to pull across the garage door to help slow them down.

That isn't going to happen.
There was a big time gap between the time I knew somebody had broken into the garage and the time I knew the car was safe and so I was expecting the worst. I tried to think about what I would do if the R was gone when I got home.... It wasn't any fun.

Damn your house security is doing its job though
I also hope the police are taking these break-ins seriously. There are not many theives out there with those kind of *****, my point being it sounds pretty professional what they doing by cutting power lines to the garage. If they catch these individuals they might be on to something larger than just one stolen car attempt, like maybe a professional ring of some sort.
